For those of you not from the north of England, that is a greeting not an insult.

In our inaugural blog post, we wanted to provide an introduction to our software consultancy, in a bit more detail than what's on the web site.

We are Yorkshire Software Solutions Ltd, a software consultancy located in Yorkshire (UK) for any overseas visitor's readers.

What do we stand for?

Our core values focus around honesty and professionalism. As altruistic as it sounds, we really do hold ourselves to a strict moral standard. Part of this being that we will give the best advice for our clients. Sometimes this is not in our best interest, however, it is one of our key pledges to put the clients requirements first, over financial gains.

This helps us build a relationship based upon trust and transparence

Who are we?

Founded by David Johnson, who has over 15 years of experience in the tech industry, we are a consultancy that wants to make a difference. With the backing of several seasoned senior software engineers, we are building a company that will provide new jobs to the Yorkshire region.

Collectively we have delivered all sizes of software projects, from simple web sites to large scale SaaS implementations, spanning multiple countries, translated into multiple languages. We have experience in a multitude of programming languages and know which technology to pick for any given scenario.

We've worked throughout a number of industries, from public services, such as police forces, to medical technology and online pharmacies, to affiliate advertisement web sites.

What do we want to accomplish?

We want to deliver software engineering projects morally and affordably. We know our trade, we've been in the trenches, and we've seen some horrors. We also know what good looks like, and aim to ensure our clients benefit from our high standards.

It is also our aim to invest in the next generation of tech talent. Using our senior engineers to quality control our engagements, we hire entry level and junior engineers to work along side them.

Working in this manor allows junior developers to gain experience (not to mention a fair wages and reference), and senior developers to gain opportunities to hone their leadership skills. This leads to our clients being provided with both high quality software for a fair price.
